The Sky Arts documentary is an intimate portrait of punk icon Poly Styrene told by her daughter Celeste Bell, who embarks on a journey through her mother’s archive, conveying her legacy, her demons and unwittingly the misogyny, racism and mental illness that plagued her and the impact this had on her relationship with her mother.   • AIM Sync Conference speaker: Marina discusses bespoke composition for film

    Marina participated as a speaker at the AIM SYNC Conference Association of Independent Music where she joined a panel to discuss insights on creating custom music for film and TV. The session was followed by an online Q&A session. AIM SYNC is a non-profit organisation representing & supporting the UK’s independent music community- a useful resource for any independent musicians out there.   • Brigitte Dir. Lynne Ramsay- Miu Miu Women's Tales #18 premiers at Venice Film Festival

    Two tracks composed by Marina Elderton in collaboration with Paul Davies feature in the new documentary short 'Brigitte', directed by Lynne Ramsay, premiering at the Venice International Film Festival. BRIGITTE is the 18th commission from Miu Miu Women’s Tales. The acclaimed short- film series invites today’s most profound and original female directors to investigate vanity and femininity in the 21st century. A vast hydraulic factory in London is the site for a special kind of production. One of the world’s foremost portrait photographers, Brigitte Lacombe, is having her own documentary portrait made about her, here. While she candidly discusses her life and ideas with filmmaker Lynne Ramsay, we see Brigitte’s intimate process at work: the graceful movement from behind her camera towards the subjects she’s capturing. This cast includes her sister, Marian, and a series of other siblings, some related by blood, others by sheer love. A conversation about making images illuminates the film’s deep monochrome mood and Brigitte’s directing gaze. We look at her looking.

Film Synopsis: At a girls' orphanage, the group’s unchecked pack mentality alienates a new arrival. To swing the balance of power, she invents a manipulative night game.

    ELDR has unveiled a captivating new music video for her most recent song "Deer Skin". The video was created by Marina's production company EMC Productions , in collaboration with Cooke Lenses, and helmed by director Philip James McGoldrick. Cinematographer Luciana Riso shares insights into her artistic process for the project as a feature of the 'Shot of Cooke' Showcase. The video is a photographic movements piece exploring themes of abuse, coercion, subjugation and racial violence.
